Hamsalekha Whole life and career in a short view:-
The name you can see in the headline is a well known personality of the south India and he makes himself known to the whole India often the music world through the contribution to the music in the south Indian cinemas. This is not going to any wrong if we mention this person as a legend of south Indian movies. This man we are talking about “Hamsalekha” birth place is in Govindaraju Gangaraju of Mysore, India. Just after completing his studies, somehow he was employed at his father’s printing press, at the same time he joined his brother “Balakrishna’s” orchestra group. He had acute desire for writing poetry and forming a tune for his personal works. Very amazingly it was him who renamed himself as “Hamsalekhani” same time he always used to write with a “Swan” which means “Hamsa” in Kannada language. Brand pen given by “Lavani Neelakantappa” his then Guru. After then, his master modified his name in term which we know him today “Hamsalekha”. He was taken into the feature films by well known director “M. N. Prasad”, who provided an opportunity for him to write a song for the film “Triveni” in the time of 1973. The song “Neena Bhagavantha” was his first release pictured on actor “Udayakumar”. His debut film as a musician was in the time of 1981 unreleased film “Rahuchandra”. His cinema career started as a dialogue and lyric writer and naame of the film was “Naanu Nanna Hendthi” in the year of 1985. Later his popularity began to soared only after his association with the shadow of actor as well as a well known director “Ravichandran”. “Premaloka” which was released in the year of 1987, brought them together for a collaboration that would endure for over 12 years.

Just after working in “Premaloka”, this man became one of the most prolific music directors in Kannada film industry, with so many hits. He personally made occasional use of many genres of music including Western, pop, rock, hip hop, Indian classical, folk, ghazals, Sufi, and item songs as well. “Chandakinta Chanda” is one of the well known ghazal he composed for the film “Sparsha” was a major hit. He had created songs ranging from the philosophical “Le Le Marula” in “Shaapa”, a film whose story he wrote himself to the naughty “Kaayi Kaayi Nuggekaayi Mahimege” in Halli Maestru, the patriotic song “Huttidhare Kannada Nadalli Hutta Bekku” in “Rajkumar’s Aakasmika”, the song which has become an unofficial anthem of Karnataka and love songs known with the name “Ele Hombisile…” in the film “Halunda Tavaru”. There is a record of this man that he composed the background score for one movie using a single instrument and made the music for “Kona Eedaite” with no instruments at all. His music in the film “Hagalu Vesha” had a rustic and folk feel without the use of synthetic sounds. His music in the time of 2010 movie was “Naanu Nanna Kanasu” was appreciated by critics as well as audiences. He also composed for the National Award-winning movie Puttakkana Highway in the time of 2011.
